We are located inside the LSUS Technology Center on the 1st floor.   Bet you didn't know... ...that textbook prices are set by the publishers of the books. We add just enough to cover expenses. ...that the LSUS Bookstore is the LSUS Bookstore--we are fully owned by the University, unlike our competitors. Any income that's left after expenses (shipping, salaries, utilities, etc.) goes back to the University, not to some corporation! ...that we know students aren't rich, so we work with professors to find cheaper options for course materials, such as allowing you to use older editions, ebooks, unbound textbooks, etc. ...that we don't sell it unless the professor will let you use it. After all, it doesn't make much sense to sell you a cheaper version of the book (such as an old edition) if it's not what you need for class! ...that we get most of our used books from YOU, the students. If you don't sell them back to us, next semester's students won't be able to buy them! ...that we can return any unsold new books to the publisher, but unsold used books have to be destroyed if the instructors stop using the book in future semesters. After all, if we bought them from you, we can't very well return them, can we?! ...that it's pretty difficult to figure out how many books to order for each class, and sometimes we get it wrong. In some classes, only 10% of the students will buy the book. In other classes, 90% will. We do the best we can to figure out how many books to order, using past sales history to predict future sales, but sometimes we get it wrong. ...that if we do run out of books, we immediately reorder using FedEx Second Day Air shipping. It's a little more expensive, but it ensures that you get your books when you need them! ...that we have a large selection of school supplies and LSUS merchandise. ...that we sell the clothes you want at affordable prices. In fact, clothing is one of the things we're really good at--and it should be, since our Director has over 15 years of experience running clothing stores!
